Deer Drive is a hunting game, which is not recommended for very sensitive people or for those who are against this particular sport, because it can cause strong emotions. When you enter the game you don’t get the feeling that is a animals killing game, since it plays a nice background music and shows a very beautiful landscape. But all that will end soon when you start playing the game.
Needless to say, you have to kill as many animals as you can and prevent being killed by bears or mooses. You have five shots available before you have to reload your weapon.
About the controls, it’s very simple what you need to know. Use the mouse for aiming. You can tweak mouse sensitivity to your preference in game options screen. Alternatively you can use arrow keys. Press left mouse button or Ctrl key to fire, and press right mouse button or R key to reload. You can press spacebar to activate breath control.
The main goal of the game is to earn the highest score possible. Shoot the animals as they run. More points are awarded for bigger animals and bigger antlers. Aim for the vitals (heart, lungs, head) for a special award. Beware! There are dangers out there. Angry bears will sniff you out, and moose will run you down. Don’t let them get too near.
Animals with a floating icon above their head give special bonuses when shot. Combine bonuses for the ultimate Deer Drive experience. Some of the bonuses are the following:
- Polarized shades: animals are easier to pick out.
- Extended clip: doubles your clip size.
- Quick shooter: doubles your shooting and reloading speed.
- Bonus weapon: awards you an awesome 30-30 Lever Action or 7mm Automatic for a limited time – use it wisely.
